Hi All From the Orifice Of The Playpen

Ever wonder why the UK doesn’t celebrate Thanksgiving??? After all it was the Pilgrims who first started the holiday, and weren’t they the ones who fled England because of religious persecution? And so that they could have freedom to practice religious beliefs in the way which they saw fit?

Well even though I am a few thousand miles from the USA I got to celebrate it. Paul booked a day off work so that he could cook me dinner and it just happened to be my day off. One of the men I work with brought me back a can of Libby’s pumpkin pie mix when he returned from his vacation in Florida. So my dinner was complete thanks to Sam.

Also I treated Sam along with 1 other non-family member to their first slice of pumpkin pie. You see here in the UK the only thing they seem to use pumpkins for is to carve for Halloween (at least to my knowledge). Anyway Sam and Irene (the 2 non-family members) will probably wish they had more now lol.

Other news is that I have been feeling a little bit depressed lately and very emotional but I think that is because of missing my grand monsters and all the stress that I have been under at work. I lost one of my full timers about 5 weeks ago and then last week Daniel (who was like my right arm) left. I am now the only full time person left with 2 part time students who work evenings. Needless to say I am working anywhere from 45 to 55 hours a week to cover all the day time hours on my department.

I am somewhat looking forward to Christmas now, though I am missing the 6 grand monsters sooooooooooooo much. This will be the first year in like 9 years that I haven’t been there to see a grandchild open presents and have more fun playing with the paper and bows than they did the actual presents that were inside lol.

The part that I am looking forward to is seeing how a different culture celebrates. I know that the deserts are much different from what I am used to as well as some of the other foods in the main course. I find myself at this particular time missing Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups and Hershey’s Kisses. Normally I would have bags of each all over the house by now getting ready to fill Christmas stockings for the kids. I also find myself missing the smell of fresh homemade pies and homemade rolls.

Okay I know I have probably bored you all to death by now lol but I just want in closing to wish u all a Very Very Merry Christmas and to say I hope u all get what u want from Santa this year. Oh and make sure to give the chimney a good sweep before Christmas eve cause we wouldn’t want the jolly old fat one to get his nice suit all sooty.

Remember to keep the handcuffs chained to the bedposts along with the whips and chains on the nightstand. Till next time

Love ya

Linda and Paul
P.S. All Christmasy type food stuffs and care packages welcome. LOL

I was born Linda Sue DeZarn to a couple with four other living children. Our family was poor as far as money went but we were rich because we had love and each other. I am now 47, mother of two daughter's and proud grandmother of six beautiful grandmonsters; the four oldest being boys and the babies are both girls (took long enuff for the girls to show their pretty faces).

I met Paul Hurwood (aka miskin) online in Excite's Virtual Places (where I also met Cait) in a chat room called Ninian's Poetry Cafe. Had it not been for some of the people in that room I would not be here today. I have led a long hard life most of which can be read in my writings.

Hi there folks. My name is Paul, and I have vital statistics that resemble the national debt of several third world countries combined. As you probably know Linda is my wife and you know the story so I won’t bore you all with it again.
In the words of Joshua one of the grand monsters “I AM A FREAK” and pretty much proud of it too.
I will try pretty much anything once and if I like it or it’s bad for me I will probably try it a couple more times just to make sure. I don’t like to take things to seriously, life is way too short.
Art wise I pretty much like anything that pushes the boundaries of either taste or experimental. My main passion is Old Time Radio, it helps to stimulate the brain and gets you thinking again.

I do occasionally write poetry but I am not a perfectionist. I write what comes into my mind and just see what happens. I think that this the honest way of writing. If it doesn’t make sense it's no biggie as far as I am concerned.
My influences come from all over the place… I get moods from Pink Floyd or whatever is playing on my cd player at the time and the Goons… a wonderfully anarchic mix of surrealism and comedy… if you get the chance try them out.

In closing I want to tell you my motto in life. It’s really simple and when things go wrong and you’re not sure what to do….

FUCK IT

The translation is down to you.

Keep your eyes on the door and the cuffs on the bedpost

Paul
